Property description
This farm is a REAL FIND!!! Just outside of Uvongo, the location is optimal in every way: A large farm close to ALL AMENITIES!! ELECTRICITY AND WATER IS TOTALLY OFF THE GRID.... WHAT A PLEASURE INDEED!!!! 24 Solar panels and four 5 Kw Watt batteries with a 16 Kw inverter- totally off Eskom. Borehole and water tanks with a 110 000 liter capacity. The borehole pumps 1 500 liter over 90 minutes and has an automated pump. ( two 5 000 liter tanks and three 10 000 liter tanks and a 70 000 liter underground water tank). The farm has a river frontage, so a weir has been created to irrigate the vegetables in the past. No water rights had been obtained.
The Macadamia trees have been planted on 16 Ha. The first Macadamia trees were planted in 2017, and the size and the quality of those trees are impressive indeed. The farmer works very much in a organic manner i.e. spraying the trees with a mixture of worm excrement, moringa ( which is a natural antibiotic and insecticide), molasses and many other natural ingredients and enzymes. There is a large fertility "plantation" for the worm farming. To attract the bees for pollination purposes, loads of Flowering Basil has been planted around all the trees. Though 2024 only delivered 4.7 tons of nuts ( sold to Green Farms Macadamias), volumes will start to pick up every year. As this used to be a vegetable and hydroponic farm, there are a lot of irrigation material that could be re-used. The Macadamia orchard are also equipped with irrigation, but is no longer in use, as the natural rain fall is more than adequate to water the trees.
In 2017: 5 Ha of 695 Beaumont trees have been planted.
In 2018: 5 Ha of 695 Beaumont trees have been planted
In 2019: 4 Ha of type 788 trees have been planted.
In 2020: 0.6 Ha of type A4 trees have been planted.
In 2023: 1.4 Ha of A4 trees have been planted.
From now on the yield will increase hugely.
There are 3 old buildings: 1 Cottage in need of TLC, and 2 Storage/ garage/ shed and repair rooms. There is some fencing, but not all round the farm.
The house is a sprawling, beautiful, well maintained, huge farm house with distant sea views. As you enter through the front door, the house has a formal, super spacious lounge and a formal dining area. The dining area opens to a covered patio with doors that allow the breeze to dance through your home. To the left you find the welcoming open plan entertainment area. Here you find the modern kitchen, super large dining area and large TV room/ lounge. Natural light spills in through all the windows and the double doors that open to the outside. This is a HAPPY HOUSE!! The kitchen is modern with a large kitchen island and al the counter tops are granite. There is a separate scullery with every convenience. The back door opens to a large under cover patio where you also find a spacious laundry (not under the cover on the patio, enclosed like a proper laundry). The dining table seats about 16 people, and it is the right place to mention that all the furniture can be negotiated on point of sale. The dining room flows naturally over to the lounge area where one can relax and be comfortable.
There are 4 exceptionally large bedrooms with the main bedroom especially enchanting, with bay windows that look out to the front, under cover patio, that spills over to the beautiful garden with really beautiful flowers. Beautiful garden views to wake up too indeed! The main bedroom is en-suite to a full bathroom. The other 3 bedrooms are spacious with large windows that allows them to be bright and airy. These 3 bedrooms share 2 bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath. There is under cover parking for 3 cars and lots of extra parking space. Pease note that the farm is VAT registered.
